West Side Story and a new Christmas tree

Last night T and I ushered at the Clark Center. The Nipomo High School put on their winter production and it was an ambitious effort. I have never seen West Side Story live and the kids did a fabulous job. The female lead is only 14 years old and she has a marvelous voice. There was another female student who starred in last year's Aida performance. She was terrific and we thought how were they going to find such talent again and they did! We were truly impressed.

Today T searched the sales flyers for a new artificial Christmas tree. We gave ours to Agi in CT and hopefully it is still going strong. We did not have a tree last year as we were in the throes of unpacking etc. There are zillions of places selling trees and they come pre-lit in both clear and colored lights. T has always had colored lights. He went on a quest stopping at Walmart, which was an absolute zoo and did not have on display an actual sample of the tree he wanted. He continued searching and found just what he wanted at Kmart. It is 7 1/2 feet and has over 800 lights. It is perfect and we found a great spot right beside my desk and the dining room table. Tomorrow we will decorate it and the rest of the house. It should be interesting to see what things survived the move.
