As I look at the last year I have learned so much. So many gifts have come our way from wonderful family, good friends old and new, good health, new paths to follow in the quest to try to leave this planet better than when we arrived. So in the end what tenets helped me the most? I'd have to say that "the four agreements" taken from the Toltec ancestors of a shaman really resonate with me: Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best. All basic things we were taught early in life but are so hard to carry out day in and day out.
Also practicing every day to be a better listener and remembering that listening is not a competition, and one must listen first to understand then to be understood.
