On Sunday evening T and I met Ed, our realtor and his wife, Barb for dinner in Cambria right along the shore. It was a beautiful sunset on Moonstone Bay Drive. We went to the Hearst Castle for their Christmas evening tour and boy was it spectacular. Fortunately for us it was a fairly warm evening even though we were prepared for it too be very cold. The place was decorated in the fashion it would have been when William Randolph Hearst was there. There were characters dressed in period costumes strolling or sitting reading, playing cards, knitting etc. We have been on Tour 1 twice but have never been on the night tour. We got to see many rooms and levels of the castle that we had not visited before. The ride up and back to the mountaintop were actually less "scary" because it was dark when we arrived. It was decidedly spooky on the way down as it had started to rain and the interior of the bus was dark, and the windows fogged up very quickly. It was a terrific place to get us in the Christmas spirit!
