In preparation for the more "wintry" weather, the golf course has been very busy trimming the cypress trees. Last winter we lost over 60 trees with the storm in January and the high winds. Here is a picture of some of the trimmings they collected so far. They collect it all and chip it and use the chippings for mulch.

Weather, weather, weather
Wow! The weather forecast for the entire country is in mega-screaming mode. Record snow in Las Vegas, huge storm heading to Chicago and then to the east coast. Here in California there is snow in them thar hills and mountains. It is unusually cool here even for our area. Lows in the 30s and highs only in the 50s - pretty unusual. Snow down to 1,000 feet - we are at about 330 feet on the mesa - yikes! We've had a few days of much needed rain with a break today. The rain here was snow over the mountains in Fresno and Bakersfield down to Los Angeles and San Diego! They had to close I-5 the main north south highway in the state. This means that the traffic was shifted over to Route 101, the north south interstate closer to the shore. It is only a 4 lane highway and not built for heavy traffic. The traffic is very heavy with big time delays and rush hour traffic that we haven't seen since leaving the east coast.

I know what you mean--we are having weather in central Texas, too. Foggy, some drizzle, and a projected high today of around 70.
