It's a stormy day here on the central coast. the winds have been blowing with gusts to 70 mph since about noon. They are calling for surf 25 feet above normal with lots of rip tides and warnings everywhere. Before the winds picked up this morning, my walk took me to the lakeside of the golf course, and this flock of birds found something interesting on the rough beside the green. They sure have a beautiful view to go with their mid day snack! The large house in the middle top of the picture belongs to the architect who designed the housing development around the golf course. We are going to a concert by the San Luis Obispo Chorale group this evening in Arroyo Grande. They are doing a program featuring American music. The last time we went to a show it was also storming and we returned to the mesa in total darkness. Hope this is not a trend.
The development newsletter for March just came out and it reports that the last storm in January knocked down 45 trees on the golf course. The tree behind our house was one of those. The grounds crew has slowly been cleaning up over the past month putting them way behind in groundskeeping. At least it wasn't snow!
