What's new?

A Hand Up was in the Hartford Courant this past Sunday. http://www.courant.com/features/columnists/hc-susan0706.art0jul06,0,5416730.column We have already received over 2 dozen calls from people who have things to donate! We could use financial donations as well and our new warehouse space is jam packed due to lots of phone calls from a previous recent article in the Bloomfield Journal.

T was given the all clear from the doc and he's well on the road to returning to his routine. We went driving around the local canyons over the weekend when he was feeling the four walls close in around him. There is some really beautiful landscape to explore. Interestingly even though we were heading up some pretty steep hills and down into the canyons, my car got 49.6 mpg on the 60 mile trip!

T has been watching some very busy humming birds darting in and out of the lilies of the Nile in the backyard. He thought they might have a nest nearby and sure enough the baby humming bird appeared today first on the hedge and later sitting on one of the "flowers" of a New Zealand flax plant - very cute and not too good at the flying thing yet!

Today I got a massage at the fitness center. The fitness center owner is also a massage therapist and in exchange for some of the T'ai Chi classes we are trading services. She is excellent.
