Board of Directors meeting

Last night was the monthly board meeting for our development. It is a volunteer board and it's a typically thankless job. By and large they do a great job dealing with some pretty significant issues: sewer ownership, water price increases, new security system and streakers! I brought up 2 issues to add to their list of woes, one they can fix and the other they chose to ignore. The first issue is the pedestrian gate at the end of our street is often left open by people. The second is about cars parked in driveways. They just sent out a package with the association's policies, one of them about cars parked in the driveways. I noted that on any morning there are over 150 cars parked in driveways. My sense is the board doesn't want to confront the homeowners, so they have chosen to turn a blind eye and not enforce the parking policies. The interesting thing is that all homeowners know the policies before moving in. Many have rented one or more storage units off site to warehouse their overflow. It really doesn't matter to us as we don't have any overflow and our cars are always in the garage. But there are a number of residents who are spending large amounts to rent storage space so their cars can be parked in the garages.

So the streaker was a young adult wearing a red hat and white sneakers and streaking down the 6th fairway. The guy was caught and given a warning. He and a couple of other people rent a house on the course. They think it was a dare.... I guess they told him and the home owner that the next incident will be reported to the sheriff.
