Quail families all over the place

For the record, this seems to be the season for quail eggs to hatch. We have many families of quail visiting our yard throughout the day. They range in size from the fuzzy golf ball size to the almost full grown size. Yesterday it was like "Make Way for Ducklings" but in this case, "Make Way for Quailings" (or whatever baby quail are called). I had to stop on our street as a pair of quail stopped right in the middle of the road. It was clear they were waiting for something. Then once they figured out I was going to wait two families of quail with about 20 baby quail crossed the street, some hurrying along more than others. It was hilarious.
