Bomb scare!

Yesterday afternoon the chef at our Pavilion, the area conference center noticed a black box with wires coming out of it in the middle of the sand pit which is located between the Pavilion and the Fitness Center. Not wanting to take any chances he called the police. They came to take a look and determined that it might be "something", so they put up the yellow tape, evacuated everyone and called the bomb squad. I didn't know we had such a thing. I expect it is a county bomb squad and lord knows where it had to come from as it took over an hour to arrive. It took a couple more hours to determine that the device was actually a gas/electrical device for fires in the sand pit. Since the sand pit isn't used, the device has been buried. Someone must have been digging in the pit and uncovered it. Well, it sure caused a buzz around here.
