T and I ushered at the Clark Center for the "Best of Las Vegas" show put on by the Nipomo High School. We have come to look forward to their performances as they are so professional. The kids in our development attend Nipomo High School. The high school drama group is outstanding at this school. It has about 1,300 students and has been in existence since 2002 when it spun off from Arroyo Grande High School. Every year the kids in drama put on a production, some of them huge, every 6 weeks or so. I don't know how they do that many shows with the quality of the performances.
This past week the high school with some help from the middle school put on their annual "Best Of" show. They do one every year. This year's show was "the Best of Las Vegas" with a portion of the shows proceeds going to benefit pediatric AIDS foundation of California and the Make-a-Wish Foundtaion.
The "best of" series is an annual crowd pleaser involving a huge number of students for starring and chorus parts. The drama teacher is fantastic and does a great job of involving a large number of students, parents and the community.
The show follows the history of Las Vegas and incorporates narratives done by students along with nearly 40 numbers depicting celebrities over the decades, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sigfried and Roy, Cher, Celine Dion, Cirque de Soleil, Stomp, and Blue Man Group. They did parodies of many shows including Riverdance.
