OMG!

OMG! T and I have been volunteering at the Clark Center. This two months they didn't have lots of choices for us but we are slated to work 3 shows every 2 months and there were MANY performances of something called Amazing Discoveries. They didn't have any descriptive information about what it was and now we know why. The net showed 2 things it could be; either a series of evangelical "meetings" or a television filming of infomercials. Of course we thought it might be the latter and hoped it wasn't the first. Well, it turned out to be the first! Here's a link to their website: http://www.amazingdiscoveries.org/

There are about a dozen nights of evangelical meetings and it's organized by the Seventh Day Adventists. They appear to be pretty popular. They are free, provide child care and very scary. Saturday night we ushered and the "meeting" was about "is it the end of the world?" Of course the message was that all the signs are there for it to be the end of the world.

T couldn't stand it and spent most of the time outside the auditorium speaking to a number of other ushers who weren't interested. I watched quite a bit of the "meeting" and was enthralled with the audience rapt attention and how these things work. There is a lot of quoting from the bible as proof statements and prophecies of impending doom. So the end is near according to these folks....hmmm
