Strawberry cake

We're heading up to SLO for dinner with P and S and Aunt L. Little L is here to visit her grandmother before heading to the Netherlands for an internship. A few months ago I tried making a strawberry cake with a recipe off the internet and it turned out heavy, dense and nasty. I'm trying another recipe from my favorite cookbook series "Cake Doctor" where everything starts with a cake mix. This one looks lighter but I'm reserving judgement until after dinner tonight. The strawberries are still in season here and are really sweet and juicy. I'm hoping this cake works out as a good use for some of those tasty strawberries!
