Mei's

As you can imagine, we have tried many Chinese restaurants since moving to California's central coast. There are not many good ones in the area which I find very surprising until you realize that there aren't a huge number of Chinese people left in SLO county. We found a pretty good one in AG and then found an even better one in Shell Beach- Mei's. One of Aunt L's companions works at this restaurant for her day job and she had said it was pretty good. So a few months ago we tried it and it really is the best one in the area. We've been telling P&S about it ever since and today they decided to give it a try. We all met there - P&S, Aunt L, her companion (not the one who works at the restaurant) and us. We had a great meal. The person who works there and cares for Aunt L waited on our table and we chatted with her and the owner. The owner is from Taiwan and her husband is the chef. We had a great meal potstickers, curry beef, tangerine chicken, tofu with black mushrooms, Chinese green beans, fried shrimp with a sweet sauce, pan fried noodles with Chinese barbeque pork and of course rice)and great service. Yum
