Louisiana dinner
We've been invited to a Louisiana dinner this Friday evening and the hostess is serving a seafood gumbo and a non-seafood jambalaya - yum. I did some research online for what wine might go well with these dishes and one common suggestions seems to be a Zinfindel from Dry Creek Vineyard in Sonoma County either Hertiage 2004 or a 2001 vintage; a Kali Hart Vineyard (Monterey County) 2005 Chardonnay. If anyone reading this has any other suggestions, please leave a comment and we can all learn something.

Good question!
Your zin should work if you must do wine. I'd recommend beer, and Abita Amber or Abita Turbodog if you can find it. Abita is a New Orleans brewer; your displaced New Orleans residents will be totally surprised if you can find it.
If not, the zin for red or a german riesling or alsatian gewurztraminer. You should be able to find them, even in California wine country ;-)
